 電信工程碩士班是為了反映現行電信與資訊科技相關工業的快速成長而設計的課程。 

 本校電機電子與電腦科學學院多年來在此領域的研究一直是位於全世界領導的地位之一，並且定期地與國際電信公司從事合作研究與諮詢，而電信工程碩士班便是基於此一經驗下而成立的。

 本課程的設計是要讓資格符合的候選人去發展與更新在此一方面的技術與專業技能，期能有效率地貢獻給電信和其相關的工業。

 課程內容包括必修課程三科：(電信系統、傳輸工程、電腦程式語言)與選修課程三科(9選3)：電腦通訊與網路、軟體工程、超媒體系統、電腦架構、電腦圖學、無線通訊、高頻通訊、數位訊號處理、超媒體系統與語音系統。 除上述課程，必須參與和工業界合作的專案，從事多方面的研究，其目的在發展最新與最符合業界需要的技術。

本課程可以一年全職而修畢(具有學士學位者)，而對於優秀的專科生並有豐富工作經驗的同學則提供一年半的課程但僅收一年學費的進修管道，再加上本校學費與生活費低廉，真是不可多得的機會。另外2001/2002年度李瑞源同學經本校駐台灣辦事處推薦，再由英國教育中心面試而榮獲一年MSc in Telecommunications 碩士課程的獎學金。因此，欲索取詳細課程資料請與本校駐台灣聯絡聯絡。  

Course Structure

The MSc course in Telecommunications emphasizes modern developments in telecommunications systems including both hardware and software. The course consists of six lecture topics selected from the list below, together with an extended project which is often carried out in partnership with industry.

The lecture contents of the MSc consist of the following three compulsory modules:

The course is normally full-time. The course starts at the end of September and lasts 12 months. Lectures are given during the first semester and part of the second semester, with the examination on this part of the course being held after 7 months (in May). The project work starts in October and, initially, students work part-time on the major project. After the examination, students work full-time on the project and submit a dissertation in October.

Suitably qualified engineers and scientists wishing to update their knowledge, may complete the course on a part-time basis, over a period of two or three years. The student is required to take at least two topics per year and meet the project requirements.

Fee Reduction Scholarships
A number of fee reduction scholarships worth £1,500 are available for applicants for 2008 entry to the following taught Masters courses:

Conditions for the award of a scholarship:

• With the exception of applicants who already receive a fee reduction, all international applicants (i.e. non EU students) accepted onto either the MSc in Electronics or the MSc in Telecommunications and who enrol full-time on the course in September 2008 will receive a fee reduction scholarship of £1,500 to be paid during the year.
• All students enrolling onto either the MSc in Electronics or the MSc in Telecommunications in September 2008 will gain automatic entry onto our PhD programme subject to acceptable performance and completion of the MSc programme and the availability of suitable supervisors.
• All applicants accepted onto the MSc in Educational Multimedia and who enrol full-time on the course in September 2008 will be considered for the award of a fee reduction scholarship of £1,500 to be paid during the year. One scholarship will be available and will be awarded to the applicant who, in the opinion of the School, best fulfils or exceeds the criteria for entry to the course.
• Students need not apply separately for the fee reduction scholarship; application is automatic upon acceptance onto an eligible programme. Students entitled to or already in receipt of a fee-reduction from the university are not eligible for the award of this School based fee reduction scholarship. The decision to award a scholarship will be based on the information given in the student’s application form. Scholarships will be paid in two instalments.
