COURSE INFORMATION
Traditionally, children with special educational needs have tended to be taught in special schools or alternatively in special units or classes in mainstream education. However, recent changes in the field of special education mean that all teachers are likely to have increasing involvement with children who have special educational needs and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator will play a key role here.

This course is directed at those teachers, either in mainstream education or special schools, who wish to build on their existing expertise and are interested in developing their skills to meet the special needs of individual pupils.

The aims of this course are to strengthen and enhance course members’ own professional skills and knowledge in the field of special education and to promote their overall development as teachers.
